The loft occupies a 10-year old development that combined a new glassy building with an existing brick apartment building to create full floor apartments. The combined frontage of these two structures provides views to both an historic downtown streetscape and a spacious “old New York” courtyard. Our total renovation of the fifth floor creates one large shared living space in the glassy addition; here a kitchen, dining area, workspace and living room all have full access to both east and west views. The open kitchen is a clean functional design with maximum storage to maintain the visual simplicity of the space. The original brick structure houses two bedrooms, three bathrooms and copious storage. The punched windows in this area provide an intimate feeling to this private family zone. High ceilings and generous wall space throughout the loft accommodate a growing art collection. We were responsible for the interior renovation and all new furnishings.
